Grading Multiple Choice Questions Based On Similarity Measure

چکیده
Recent findings show the poor performances of students in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) examinations. This could be attributed to administration questions on application knowledge rather than fundamental knowledge. Candidates doing these examinations at times choose options that are close actual answer but get zero (0) as reward. The objective developing a system rewards candidate based approximation an option chosen not exactness was therefore formulated this study. 500 MCQs with their model answers, students’ answers and scores obtained from two universities Nigeria were collected. Jaro similarity measure used compute degree between student answers. Results experiment average deviation 13.3 marks. adoption method grading would very beneficial evaluating learners e-learning platforms. result is encouraging improved upon semantic hybridized string similarity.

Analysis of Multiple Choice Questions Based On Classical Test Theory
Introduction: The aim of this study was to use Classical Test Theory (CTT) software for qualitative and quantitative analysis of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) for Master students of health discipline. Methods: This study was carried out on two groups each including 50 undergraduate students of public health, and two groups of 50 and 26 undergraduate students of occupational health. The final...
متن کاملSimilarity Measure of Test Questions Based on Ontology and VSM
Vector space model (VSM) is a common method for measuring test questions similarity in massive item bank system. VSM is limited in accurately representing the knowledge relationship and the potential semantic relations of different characteristic words, hence this paper proposes a method of test questions similarity measure called OVSMTQSM which combines domain ontology and VSM. OVSM-TQSM can r...
متن کاملGuessing in Multiple Choice Questions: Challenges and Strategies
Introduction: Guessing is one of the most challenging issues in multiple choice questions. Several strategies, such as negative scoring, have been suggested for preventing students from choosing the right answer just by chance. However, there is no general agreement on using such strategies. The aim of this study was to review the scoring methods which are used for reducing guessing, and evalua...

Introduction: The distractors have a very important role in Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) and it can influence the quality of the tests. This study aimed to investigate frequency of functioning and non-functioning distractors and the relationship between the distractors options with difficulty and discrimination in Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical sciences in 2017. Methods: In this desc...
